Also required is a visit to the ancient roman city of Pollentia (123 BC), located outside the historic town of Alcudia and composed by the Forum, the House of the two treasures, the Roman Theatre and the Archaeological Museum. Ca’n Picafort

The tourist resort of Ca’n Picafort is located in the northwest of the island, between two natural sites, the Son Real Natural Reserve and the Albufera Natural Park, and right in the middle of the Alcudia Bay, the largest beach of the island, 17 km. of white sand. Note that Ca’n Picafort is not only a resort but a small coastal town with quirks that entails a variety of restaurants and entertainment along the beach, which also has disables access along the beach through long wooden ramps.
Preserved areas of woods extend towards the east, with only two small villages and hardly any tourist development. At this end of the bay is Cap Farrutx, one of the most beautiful areas of the island. To the west lies the Albufera Naural Park, Playa de Muro (2 km.), Puerto de Alcudia (10 km.), Alcudia (14 Km.), Puerto de Pollenca (22 Km.) and Formentor (31 km.).

The spectacular surroundings of this area offers a wide range of possibilities for all kinds of sport activities (beach volleyball, diving, horse riding, karting, tennis, sailing, windsurfing, hiking, Nordic-walking, bicycle, birdwatching, golf,….), cultural activities (stand out over all the Necropolis belonging to the stage postalayótica) or simply relaxing walks.
